Lilii Borea

A performance in two parts

Painting in yellow and orange on dark blue, cover image of Lilii Borea

The first part of the performance Lilii Borea tells of the first encounters between a woman and a man and the conflict they feel. The search for intensity and passion, alongside the wish for autonomy and freedom, forms a contradiction that seemingly can only be resolved by the death of the beloved and the lasting memory of him.

The second part shows, in twenty-one sequences, the lives of several people in a city of the near future. The destruction of nature is far advanced: waters, seas and landscapes are barren, women and men infertile and corrupted by hatred, malice and violence. Alongside this, the protagonists’ longing for truthfulness and simple existence despite the apocalyptic situation: the dream of a child, the rescue of a dog – embodiments of the last intact beings in the world – and an answer from the stars.
